Stress relief for firefighting heroes

The Fire Services Department works as a team to protect Hong Kong people from fire and other calamities.
The 9 000 rescuers from the fire and ambulance stream project an image of bravery, professionalism and efficiency. Despite that heroic facade, they are under inordinate pressure.
To help these heroes cope with that stress, the department set up a Stress Counselling Team in 2009 made up of volunteers from its own divisions and employed a clinical psychologist this August for professional help.
