The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Maritime Square, Tsing Yi, from October 25 to 27.
A total of 54 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering and transport industries (including the aviation logistics services industry), offering over 4 600 vacancies. Eighteen organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as section-in-charge of department store, beauty advisor, ramp services worker, traffic officer, security guard, cleaner, customer service representative, sales assistant, shop assistant, cashier, warehouse assistant, waiter or waitress, kitchen assistant and technician. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 77 per cent of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 98 per cent of these vacancies require Secondary Five education level or below. Around 80 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at 1/F, Fantasy Island, Maritime Square, 33 Tsing King Road, Tsing Yi, New Territories(near MTR Tsing Yi Station). Admission is free.
