CS to visit Germany and Poland

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Stephen Lam, will visit Germany and Poland from October 23 to 27.  

     Mr Lam will depart for Berlin on the evening of October 22. While in Berlin, he will meet with government officials and the business community to update them on Hong Kong's latest developments and promote bilateral exchanges. He will also speak at the Hong Kong Gala Dinner on October 24 and visit arts and cultural facilities in Berlin to learn from their experiences in the context of Hong Kong's development of the West Kowloon Cultural District.

     Mr Lam will then leave for Warsaw on October 26 for further meetings with government officials and the business community. On October 27, Mr Lam will speak at the "Hong Kong-Guangdong Business Conference in Warsaw 2011". The conference is the 10th investment promotion event held jointly by the HKSAR Government and the Guangdong Provincial Government since 2003, and aims to promote investment and business opportunities offered by the close co-operation between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.

     Mr Lam will return to Hong Kong at midday on October 28. During his absence, the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be Acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
