Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun on September 30 in which a 65-year-old man died.

     About 6.20am on that day, a bicycle driven by the 65-year-old man and a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 41-year-old man were travelling in sequence along Tseng Choi Street towards Yuen Long. When approaching a car park on Tsing Chui Path, the PLB reportedly hit the bicycle.

     The 65-year-old cyclist sustained severe head injury and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.20pm on the same day.

     The 41-year-old PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm on that day. He was bailed out pending further investigation and should report to Police in late October.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are continuing.
