Police are investigating a traffic accident in Aberdeen today (October 17) in which a 57-year-old woman died.
At about 5am, a public light bus driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Lei Tung Estate Road towards Aberdeen. Upon reaching outside Tung Yat House of Lei Tung Estate, it reportedly knocked down the 57-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman was taken to Queen Mary Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 5.37am.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are underway.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 3106 8800.
