The Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, today (October 14) led a delegation comprising representatives of the legal and arbitration services sectors to Shenzhen to exchange views with relevant parties on the promotion of Hong Kong's legal and arbitration services in Qianhai.
In the morning, the delegation met with officials of various municipal government departments, including the Legislative Affairs Office, the Qianhai Authority, the Intermediate People's Court and the Justice Bureau, as well as representatives of arbitration organisations and the legal sector.
In the afternoon the delegation toured the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hongkong Modern Service Industry Co-operation Zone before returning to Hong Kong.
Delegation members included the Chairman of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Mr Huen Wong; representatives of the Hong Kong Bar Association and the Law Society of Hong Kong; and officials of the Department of Justice and the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau.
