The Legislative Council (LegCo) Secretariat has introduced a new Webcasting System to better serve the public.
Through the new Webcasting System, members of the public can now view or listen to all open meetings of the Legislative Council and its committees held in the Chamber, Conference Room 1, 2A, 2B, 3, 4, 5 and Press Conference Room 1A and 1B of the LegCo Complex via the internet.
The Webcasting System in the LegCo Complex is a new system to replace the original Digital Recording System (DRS). It is designed to provide webcast (video and audio) and audiocast (audio only) services to public users, LegCo Members and staff of the LegCo Secretariat. Compared with the original DRS, which could only support around 120 users for Live Meeting Webcast or Video-On-Demand Webcast, the new Webcasting System can support up to 400 users.
The webcast service consists of Live Meeting Webcast and Video-On-Demand Webcast. They contain both video and audio streaming. The audiocast service consists of Live Meeting Audiocast and On-Demand Audiocast. Only audio streaming is included. Besides basic webcast features, the new Webcasting System also provides advanced features such as keyword search for agenda and instant audio language swap.
