The Hospital Authority (HA) Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, met the parents and relatives of the 13-year-old boy Cheung Yui-ting today (October 10) to listen to their concern and request. Dr Leung promised to follow up and provide the information required to clarify the queries and doubt of the family.
On behalf of the HA, Dr Leung expressed the deepest condolence and apology to Yui-ting¡¦s family for the grief.
Dr Leung admitted that Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH)'s follow-up and communication with the family after the incident so far was beyond satisfaction. He has requested the hospital to ensure the best of effort in the subsequent follow-up communication with the parents and to provide the necessary assistance and support to the family.
Dr Leung said, "TMH has referred the patient case to the Coroner with a view to arriving at an objective and impartial verdict on the cause of death of Yui-ting through an independent judicial procedure."
