************************************************************

Jointly presented by the Chinese World Cultural Heritage Foundation (CWCHF) and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the "Peace and Harmony - The Divine Spectra of China's Fragrant Harbour Exhibition" will be held from mid-October. The exhibition features aloe of sacred scripture (also known as agarwood) - the most valuable wood species on earth - and related artefacts. Free admission tickets will be available at three LCSD venues from October 3 (Monday) until 16.

Running from October 13 to 29 from 10am to 8pm and on October 30 from 10am to 6pm at Hong Kong City Hall Low Block Exhibition Hall, the exhibition tells the story of aloe (or agarwood), and its special significance to Hong Kong, which was named after it - in Chinese, Hong Kong means "Fragrant Harbour". Different grades and species of agarwood will be exhibited and there will also be exquisite carvings, furniture, decorative items, fragrant resins including frankincense and myrrh, as well as essential oils and perfumes and the utensils that go with them.

Free admission tickets for the "Peace and Harmony - The Divine Spectra of China's Fragrant Harbour Exhibition" will be distributed at the enquiry counters of the following LCSD performing venues from October 3 to 16 between 10am to 8pm daily on a first-come, first-served basis:

1. Hong Kong Cultural Centre
(10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon)

2. Hong Kong City Hall
(5 Edinburgh Place, Central, Hong Kong)

3. Sha Tin Town Hall
(1 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, New Territories)

Each person may obtain a maximum of four tickets and each ticket will admit only one person. Children aged 11 or below with valid tickets have to be accompanied by an adult. There will be two viewing sessions daily, with the first running from 10am to 3pm, and the second from 3pm to 8pm (to 6pm on October 30). Members of the public should choose a viewing session upon collection of tickets. Distributed tickets cannot be exchanged.

Admission tickets are also available at the specified locations of CWCHF from now until October 30. A small quantity of tickets will be distributed at the exhibition venue during the exhibition to accommodate walk-in patrons. However, admission priority will be given to visitors who have obtained valid tickets in advance.

The "Peace and Harmony - The Divine Spectra of China's Fragrant Harbour Exhibition", sponsored by A Better Tomorrow, Chinese Literature Foundation, World Cultural Relics Protection Foundation, Champion Technology Group, Kantone Group and DIGITALHONGKONG.COM, is one of the highlights of the World Cultures Festival 2011 - Enchanting Arts of Asia, presented by the LCSD.
