In view of the growing popularity of applications for mobile phones and tablet computers (Apps), the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA) will launch a Healthy Mobile Phone/Tablet Apps Nomination Programme to further promote the culture of ˇ§Healthy Information for a Healthy Mindˇ¨ and to encourage the use of Apps with healthy, practical and educational content. Members of the public are invited to nominate their favourite Apps through the thematic website www.merit.gov.hk starting from tomorrow (October 1).
Winning entries will be selected from the nominations by a panel of adjudicators in accordance with the following criteria:
* whether the Apps help foster a healthy mind;
* education value;
* practicality;
* layout and creativeness; and
* value for money.
Nominators of the winning entries will get the chance to win a department store cash coupon worth HK$ 300 (10 prizes). In addition, nominators may be awarded a department store cash coupon worth HK$ 100 (50 prizes). The results will be announced in February 2012.
