Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II (HKCEC II) for rehearsal of the Flag Raising Ceremony tomorrow (September 30) and the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony on Saturday (October 1).
(A) Traffic arrangements for rehearsal of the Flag Raising ceremony between 7am and 12.30pm on September 30
(1) Road Closure
A section of Expo Drive East north of Expo Drive will be closed. Traffic on Expo Drive will be maintained but will be intermittently held up when the parade is marching in and out of the waterfront promenade and Golden Bauhinia Square.
(2) Suspension of Bus Terminus
The bus terminus on Expo Drive East will be suspended. Bus routes 25A, 25C, 373Aand 961 will terminate at Wan Chai Ferry Pier bus terminus from the first departure to 12.30pm. A temporary bus stop for bus route No. H2 will be provided at Wan Chai Ferry Pier bus terminus.
(3) Suspension of Taxi Stand and Parking Spaces
The taxi stand at Expo Drive and the coach metered parking spaces on Expo Drive East will be suspended.
(B) Traffic arrangement for the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony on October 1
(1) Road Closure
Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central, Expo Drive East and a section of Convention Avenue eastbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive East will be closed to all vehicular traffic between 5.30am and 11am on October 1, except for authorised vehicles.
(2) Suspension of Bus Terminus and Taxi Stand
(a) The bus terminus on Expo Drive East will be suspended between midnight and 11am on October 1. Bus routes No. 961, 25A and 25C will terminate at Wan Chai Ferry Pier bus terminus. A temporary bus stop for bus route No. H2 will be provided at Wan Chai Ferry Pier bus terminus.
(b) The taxi stand on Expo Drive will be suspended between 5.30am and 11am.
(3) Suspension of Parking Spaces
(a) The coach metered parking spaces at Expo Drive East will be suspended from 10pm on September 30 to 11am on October 1.
(b) The public bus parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area on Expo Drive East will be suspended between midnight and 11am on October 1.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangement will be towed away without prior notice. People are encouraged to use public transport.
