The Hospital Authority (HA) made the following statement on the release of an investigation report on a medication incident by Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) today (September 22):
The HA Head Office has received the investigation report from PWH and will study the report in detail. The HA will ensure that PWH implements the recommended measures as early as possible to prevent recurrence of a similar incident. The HA would like to extend deep condolences to the family of the deceased.
The healthcare professionals of public hospitals are reminded to strictly adhere to the stringent guidelines and procedures of drug administration to ensure patient safety.
