Hongkong Post today (September 12) announced that a unique new philatelic product, "Centenary of Powered Flight in Hong Kong" - Farman Biplane Classic Model Gift Set, will be put on sale at 37 philatelic offices on September 15.
To tie in with the Hong Kong Airlines Flying Machine Competition 2011 on September 17 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of aviation development in Hong Kong, an exclusive new philatelic product, the Farman Biplane Classic Model Gift Set, will be released for sale on September 15 at all 37 philatelic offices throughout Hong Kong. The gift set commemorates the historic lift-off of the Farman Biplane at Sha Tin in the New Territories on March 18, 1911, and contains a $6 stamp sheetlet entitled "Centenary of Powered Flight in Hong Kong" and issued on March 18 together with the Farman Biplane model.
