A spokesman for the Efficiency Unit announced today (September 10) that a new high-definition iPad application developed by the government youth portal (Youth.gov.hk) can now be downloaded by the public from the App Store.
An iPhone application entitled "Youth.gov.hk" was launched in February this year. To better cater to young people's interests, the youth portal has developed an updated high-definition version of the application. More than 100 videos can be viewed on iPads using the application, with various contents on offer:
* Information on government posts including Executive Officer, police officer, Immigration Officer and Customs Inspector to give youngsters an overview of what civil service posts entail;
* Prize-winning video productions by local students within a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their creativity; and
* Freshtube, a green video channel, which not only serves to raise awareness of the environment and its protection among young people, but also encourages them to express their opinions about Hong Kong's natural heritage and resources.
The new features of this application cover three areas: a more colourful layout design, better quality of the user interface, and a high-definition iPad interface. The improvements will serve to enhance users' enjoyment of this latest, spectacular video application.
Users can now find "Youth.gov.hk" at the App Store for instant download of the new application. Those who have already downloaded the application onto their iPads can get the updated version to enjoy higher-quality videos.
