Further amendments to construction works of turnaround at junction of Salisbury Road and Canton Road gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (September 9) on further amendments to the proposed works to construct a vehicular turnaround facility at the junction of Salisbury Road and Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. The amendments aim at ameliorating the effects of the works on the public.

     The proposed further amendments are as follows:

(i) Revision of the proposed limit of the works area;

(ii) Expansion of the originally proposed turnaround to include the construction of a new public transport interchange (PTI) at the junction of Salisbury Road and Canton Road;

(iii) Revision of the proposed layout of the carriageways, footpaths, pedestrian crossings and dividers/traffic islands at the junction of Salisbury Road and Canton Road;

(iv) Conversion of part of the existing PTI into carriageways, footpaths and dividers/traffic islands, with provision of additional bus stops and relocation of the originally proposed taxi drop-off point;

(v) Revision of the originally proposed permanent closure of the existing PTI;

(vi) Revision of the proposed permanent closure of sections of the existing carriageways, footpaths, landscape area and dividers/traffic islands;

(vii) Revision of the proposed temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing carriageways and footpaths;

(viii) Temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing dividers/traffic islands; and

(ix) Ancillary works including landscaping, drainage, lighting and utility diversion, and installation of traffic lights.

     The amendment plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following places during office hours:
