Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan this morning (September 8) in which a 46-year-old woman was killed.
At about 7.50 am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 59-year-old man was travelling along A Kung Kok Street towards Ma On Shan. When reaching near Sha Tin Fishermens New Village, it reportedly knocked down the 46-year-old woman who was crossing the road on her bicycle.
Sustaining serious head and chest injuries, the woman was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 8.42am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigations Team of Traffic, New Territories South were proceeding.
