Correctional officers and supervisee sustain injuries during recall operation
************************************************************

Four correctional staff from the Correctional Services Department (CSD) sustained various injuries yesterday (August 29) during a recall operation for a supervisee.

The CSD staff arrived at Fanling Magistrates' Court at around 2pm to escort a male supervisee who was allowed bail for another outstanding offence back to the correctional institution. The supervisee tried to escape but was successfully intercepted.

During the interception, the supervisee struggled fiercely. As a result, all CSD staff as well as the supervisee were hurt and required medical examination and treatment.

The supervisee, surnamed Chui, was discharged in March this year and a recall order was issued in June against him because he was found to have relapsed into drug abuse. The case was reported to the Police.
