Twenty three building plans approved in July

     The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in July, with 13 on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 17 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial development, and one was for community services development.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 132 627 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2 228 units, and 182 678 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for seven building projects.

     The department also issued 15 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 30 514 square metres, involving 195 units, and 72 678 square metres for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $1.2 billion.

     In addition, seven demolition consents involving seven building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 700 complaints about unauthorised building works in July, and issued 249 removal orders for unauthorised works.
