Appeal for information on identity of man found dead in Tuen Mun (with photo)

     Police today (August 29) appeal to the public for information on the identity of a man who was burnt to death in Tuen Mun earlier this year.

     At 1.50am on February 3, Police received a report that a man was on fire at Tuen Hi Road. Fireman attended the scene and put out the fire. The man was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.
 
     The deceased, aged around 40, was of moderate build. He was about 1.8 metres tall and weighed about 95 kilograms. All his upper incisors had been replaced with dentures. One premolar and 3 molars were also absent.

     He was wearing a blue jacket with English wordˇ§MICHIGANˇ¨in yellow; a blue and green chequered shirt; a knitted scarf with red, white and black stripes; blue jeans; and black sports shoes. He also carried with him a blue rucksack withˇ§GIRBAUDˇ¨printed in English characters on it. No identity document was found in his possession.

     Initial investigations revealed no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

     Anyone who knows the identity of the deceased or has any information to offer is urged to contact officers of the Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-unit of Castle Peak Division on 3661 5935 or 3661 5937.
