Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan this morning (August 29) in which a 62-year-old man was killed.

     About 4.45am, a private car driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along a slip road of Cornwall Street towards Sha Tin. When reaching the junction with Tai Po Road, the private car reportedly knocked down a bicycle ridden by the 62-year-old man travelling along Tai Po Road towards Sha Tin.

     The male cyclist sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Princess of Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 5.20am.

     The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on bail and was required to report back to Police in late September.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
