Government concerned about Hong Kong reporters stranded in Libya

     The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is highly concerned about four Hong Kong reporters stranded at a hotel in Libya, a Government spokesperson said today (August 23).

     "Upon learning of the incident, the Immigration Department immediately contacted the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China there, and provided practicable assistance," the spokesperson said.

     "The Immigration Department has already contacted the reporters concerned and understands that they are safe.

     "The department will continue to follow up the incident and maintain close contact with the reporters to offer all practicable assistance," the spokesperson said.
