Cantonese opera singers to perform in October

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present two Cantonese opera concerts in October. Performing at the concerts are the renowned Cantonese opera artists Wan Fai-yin, Wong Chiu-kwan, Man Kim-fei, Ng Chin-fung, Lee Fung, Lee Lung, Amy Wu, Chan Kim-sing, Sun Kim-long, Tang Mei-ling, Cheng Wing-mui, Wai Chun-fai and Chung Lai-yung.

     The performances will start at 7.30pm. Details are as follows:

October 2 (Sunday); Theatre, Ko Shan Theatre
Performers: Wan Fai-yin, Wong Chiu-kwan, Ng Chin-fung, Lee Fung, Chan Kim-sing, Sun Kim-long, Cheng Wing-mui and Wai Chun-fai
Programme includes: "The God of Luo River", "Eighteen Songs of a Nomad Flute", "Chastising the Princess", "Daiyu at Her Death Bed", "Tricking the Rake" from "Lost Among a Bevy of Beauties", "White Dragon Pass" and "Entering into Exile and Surrender".

October 23 (Sunday); Auditorium, Tuen Mun Town Hall
Performers: Man Kim-fei, Ng Chin-fung, Lee Fung, Amy Wu, Chan Kim-sing, Tang Mei-ling and Chung Lai-yung
Programme includes: "Cleaving Open Mount Huashan in Anger", "Yang Wulang Saving His Younger Brother", a medley of popular Cantonese tunes ("Where Love Blooms", "Love at the Hundred Flowers Pavilion" and "The Fragrance of the Lotus"), "Zhou Yu Wallowing in a Love Song", "The Guessing Game" from "Di Qing", "The Ruthless Sword and the Two Lovers" and "The Encounter Under the Willow and Returning the Lute".

     Tickets priced from $100 to $260 are available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
