The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, arrived in Beijing this afternoon (August 18) and met the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Wu Hailong.
Mr Lee updated Mr Wu on the latest situation in Hong Kong and exchanged views with him on matters of common concern.
Mr Lee will meet officials from the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court in Beijing before flying to Hohhot next Tuesday (August 23). He will fly to Guangzhou on August 25 and meet public security officials of Guangdong. He will meet Shenzhen public security officials in Shenzhen before returning to Hong Kong on August 26.
