CE to attend the Summer Universiade opening ceremony in Shenzhen

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will depart for Shenzhen tomorrow (August 12) to attend the opening ceremony of the 2011 Summer Universiade. He will return to Hong Kong in the evening.

     During Mr Tsang's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be the Acting Chief Executive.

     More than 6,000 athletes from over 150 countries or regions are expected to participate in the 2011 Summer Universiade.  The Hong Kong delegation comprises 102 athletes who will participate in 15 sports programmes, including archery, athletics, badminton, diving, fencing, windsurfing, table tennis and taekwondo, etc.
