Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a baby boy who was found abandoned in Sheung Shui today (August 9).
At about noon, Police received a report that a baby was abandoned inside a rental unit in San Lok Street.
Police sped to scene and found the baby boy on a bed inside the unit. He was believed to be about eight-month-old and was wearing white clothes when found.
The baby boy, sustaining no apparent injuries, was sent to North District Hospital for examinations. He was later transferred to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for observation.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are proceeding.
Police urge his relatives or anyone who has information to offer, to contact the investigating officers or duty officers of Sheung Shui Police Station at 3661 3710.
