Proposed road works in Sham Shui Po District gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (August 5) on the proposed road works in Sham Shui Po District, aiming to provide the necessary infrastructure for the potential land sale sites east of the ex-Lung Ping Road temporary housing area (land sale site 1) and at the ex-Lung Ping Road temporary housing area (land sale site 2).

     The proposed works are as follows:

(1) construction of a single two-lane carriageway, including sections of elevated carriageways and at-grade carriageways, between the vehicular ingress / egress point of land sale site 2 and the junction in the vicinity of the Lung Cheung Road Lookout;

(2) construction of a single-lane carriageway, including sections of elevated carriageway and at-grade carriageways, connecting Lung Cheung Road eastbound and the proposed single two-lane carriageway in item (1);

(3) construction of a single-lane at-grade carriageway connecting the proposed single two-lane carriageway in item (1) to Lung Cheung Road eastbound near Water Supplies Department Car Park No.3;

(4) construction of at-grade / elevated footpaths;

(5) construction of vehicular ingress / egress points for land sale site 1 and land sale site 2, as well as a lay-by;

(6) temporary closure and reconstruction / modification / realignment of sections of the existing carriageways and footpaths; and

(7) ancillary works including site formation, geotechnical, slope, retaining wall, drainage, sewage, water supplies, utilities, landscaping, and electrical and mechanical works.

     The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following places during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before October 4.
