The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Manpower continues its duty visit in Korea today (July 28) and will meet with representatives of the Korea Employers Federation to understand employers' major areas of concern in the implementation of standard working hours.
The delegation met with representatives of the Economic and Social Development Commission (ESDC) yesterday (July 27). ESDC is a presidential tripartite advisory body which serves as the official social communication channel among the government, employers, labour and public interest groups. The discussion between the delegation and ESDC covered a wide range of issues related to the implementation of standard working hours.
The delegation also met with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the second largest national federation of trade unions in Korea, to obtain the views of the labour sector on the impact of implementation of standard working hours in the country.
