Police appeal for information on bank card scam (with photo)

     Police today (July 25) appealed to the public for information on a bank card scam in Kowloon City last year.

     At about 7pm on October 7, 2010, Police received a report from a man who suspected that his identity card and bank card had been misused. A total loss of about $900,000 was reported.

     Upon investigation, Police suspected that a man had used the victim's bank card for cash withdrawal and shopping on numerous occasions. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect is a man aged around 40 to 50 with short hair. He was wearing a chequered shirt and black trousers during one of the occasions.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kowloon City are under way.

     Police appeal to anyone who has any information to offer on the case to contact the investigating officers on 2761 8356 or 2761 8282.
