SJ visits Beijing (with photo)

     The Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, is in Beijing today (July 20) for a three-day visit.

     During his stay in Beijing, he will call on a number of Mainland authorities. These include the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Legislative Affairs Office and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

     He will exchange views with relevant officials on issues such as the further promotion of Hong Kong's legal and arbitration services in the Mainland, including the development of such services in Qianhai in Shenzhen, and the enhancement of mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial cases and matters in relation to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement.

     Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong on Friday.
