The "Special Topics Report No. 55" on social statistics was published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) today (July 19).
The report contains the findings of a special enquiry on "Employees engaged under employment contracts with short duration or working hours" which was conducted by the C&SD via the General Household Survey during October to December 2009.
In this enquiry, information was collected on the characteristics (e.g. age, sex, industry and occupation engaged in) of employees working in the non-government sector who were engaged under employment contracts with short duration or working hours and the employment benefits provided to them by their employers.
The report includes findings of the above enquiry with some 20 statistical tables. Users can download this publication free of charge at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/statistical_report/social_data/index.jsp).
