The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Tung Chung Community Hall on July 21 and 22.
A total of 54 companies will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering, property management and aviation logistics services industries, offering a total of about 3 600 vacancies. Twenty-seven organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as shop assistant, cashier, sales staff, waiter or waitress, kitchen assistant, security guard, storekeeper, passenger services agent, aircraft cabin cleaner, ramp operative and airport dispatch and station control officer as well as shop supervisor. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 85 per cent of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 95 per cent of these vacancies require Secondary Five educational level or below. Over 60 per cent of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at G/F, Tung Chung Community Hall, Tung Chung Municipal Services Building, 39 Man Tung Road, Tung Chung (MTR Tung Chung Station Exit C, next to North Citygate). Admission is free.
