Repertoire of HK multi-media dance classic by Daniel Yeung to be revamped
***********************************************************

Twelve years ago, "Dance Exhibitionist - a Paradise for Natural Body" catapulted Daniel Yeung to fame from Hong Kong to overseas. The work explored the different possibilities of Yeung's body and its relation to video projection images in the theatre space. The piece turned out to be a deep conversation between Yeung's soul and his own body.

After 12 years, Yeung has come to another starting point by revamping and morphing the renowned classic he created into a new full-length solo dance work, "Dan's Exhibitionist". The new work will dig deep into issues of what the life of a dancer-choreographer is in regard to facing himself, challenging himself, and loving and hating himself physically, mentally and psychologically in making dance. Shifting between time and space, past and future, real and surreal, it unfolds about life as it evolves through all possibilities and dialogues of the spiritual body and the mortal soul.

Daniel Yeung is currently an independent choreographer, teacher and arts critic. He began dancing at the age of 29 through self-initiation, but was later awarded scholarships to study choreography in Holland and the United Kingdom. He won numerous awards including the Hong Kong Dance Award, Best Choreography of the Year and the Rising Artist Award. He was also named as the Choreographer to Look At by Ballet Tanz, Europe's leading dance magazine.

"Dan's Exhibitionist" by Daniel Yeung is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 8pm on September 9 and 10 (Friday and Saturday) and 5pm on September 11 (Sunday) at the Drama Theatre of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
