Award-winning show "Cricket in My Life" to re-run again
*******************************************************

"Cricket in My Life", one of the most popular shows by Prospects Theatre, will be re-run again in August. The premiere won Best Overall Performance, Best Script, Best Director (Tragedy/Drama) and Top Ten Most Popular Productions in the 9th Hong Kong Drama Awards in 1999.

The story is about three sisters and a brother. When their father and mother pass away in close succession, they continue to live under one roof. It seems that life goes on as usual for them, until one day, a cricket appears in a corner of their home. Things begin to change. Sometimes they bicker and fight like they hate each other's guts, and at other times they are a close and loving family. The emotional ups and downs bring on one stunning scene after another of human drama.

Premiered in 1999, "Cricket in My Life" looks at the transmutation of a family through a cricket's eyes. Small things are seen in a larger magnitude, illustrating Hong Kong on the threshold of the new millennium, when the old order is clashing head-on with the new. Directed by Poon Wai-sum, this re-run offers us an excellent opportunity to review what changes have taken place in our lives in the 12 years since.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Cricket in My Life" (3rd run), to be conducted in Cantonese, will be staged at 8pm on August 25 to 27 (Thursday to Saturday) and at 3pm on August 27 and 28 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets priced at $180 and $120 are now available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis).
