CEO responds to media enquiries
*******************************

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Chief Executive's Office today (July 5) said that the Chief Executive originally planned to attend the Question and Answer (Q&A) session in the Legislative Council (LegCo) on July 15. However, in view of the heavy agenda of the LegCo sitting of July 13, the meeting was expected to be completed only after July 15. After consulting the President of LegCo last week, it was decided that the Q&A session be postponed and that an additional session be arranged in the 2011-12 legislative session.

Now that the second reading of the Legislative Council (Amendment) Bill 2011 will not be resumed on July 13, the Government, after consulting the President of LegCo, has decided that the Chief Executive's Q&A session be reinstated on July 15.

Since assuming office in 2005, the Chief Executive has attended 25 Q&A sessions in LegCo.
