A leading Taiwanese industry player in freshly-made drinks CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice has announced the expansion of its operations in Hong Kong, with the opening of a second teahouse in Mong Kok selling its signature Taiwanese tapioca milk tea and fresh teas and juices.
The company runs more than 600 teahouses worldwide, in Taiwan, the United States and Hong Kong and is the largest chain of Taiwan-style tea shops in Mainland China. Its current expansion heralds an ambitious plan to spread throughout northeast and southeast Asia, the Middle East and Australasia.
CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice General Manager in Hong Kong, Mr Paul Lam, said, "We aim to have 800 CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice shops worldwide by the end of this year. Our first teahouse in Hong Kong opened in January 2011 in Wan Chai and has been well-received by customers who have expressed their appreciation of the high quality and healthy ingredients of the drinks we offer and our excellent service. Hong Kong customers are sophisticated and demand high quality. They are more sensitive to brands with higher quality and more likely to spend their money on them."
Mr Lam continued, "We are aiming to bring the fresh and authentic taste of healthy Taiwan-style tea beverages to Hong Kong, a Chinese city with international characteristics. Our teahouses are on busy streets to achieve maximum visibility and customer reach. The right location is key to business performance. We are confident that we can succeed in Hong Kong with our dedication to offering high-quality products and warm service. After the opening of our Mong Kok teahouse, we will continue to open new teahouses in different districts in Hong Kong, aiming to allow more consumers to taste our drinks."
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Mr Andrew Davis, said, "Hong Kong's unique position at the heart of Asia and as a gateway to Mainland China mean that it is one of the fastest and most exciting places in the world for a company like CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice to be."
He added, "The continued expansion of our food and beverage choices in Hong Kong is solid evidence of the potential for growth of these companies. We welcome the expansion of CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice in our city and we wish it every success for its future."
Starting a business in Hong Kong, for companies large and small, has been further facilitated with the launch of the Government's electronic incorporation service in March 2011. The time required for company incorporation and business registration has now been significantly reduced from four to one working day.
