Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin this morning (July 3) in which a 38-year-old man was killed.
About 9.30am, a motorcycle driven by the 38-year-old man was travelling along the Tate¡¦s Cairn Highway towards Kowloon. When reaching near the toll plaza of Tate¡¦s Cairn Tunnel, a private car driven by a 41-year-old woman reportedly knocked down the motorcycle from behind.
The man sustained serious chest injuries and was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment where he was certified dead at 10.52am.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. She is being detained pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
