The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise the Community Thematic Carnival "Chic Teen Zone @ Tai Po" at Tai Po Central Town Square this Sunday afternoon (July 3) from 3pm to 6pm, showcasing a series of performances and entertainment for the public to enjoy. Admission to all programmes is free.
Teenagers from local secondary schools and youth centres will give a series of performances on the main stage including cheerleading, an excerpt from the opera "Les Miserables", marching band music, Chinese music, a band show, street dance, hip-hop, jazz dance, magic and drumming. In addition, pop singers Det Dik and Roger Fung will perform pop songs on the stage.
Located at the other end of the square will be a cycling corner where members of the public may demonstrate their skills on bikes. A 25-feet high inflatable tower will be set up for the public to share the fun of climbing. Local celebrities will also talk about the history, current local issues and other hot topics of Tai Po during the carnival. There will also be a graffiti wall, a workshop and a game stall for public enjoyment.
Paintings, photographs and models created by the students of four secondary schools in the district will also be displayed.
