The "Special Topics Report No. 54" on social statistics was published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) today (June 30).
The report contains the findings of a special enquiry on "Labour mobility" which was conducted by the C&SD via the General Household Survey during January to March 2010.
This enquiry targeted at the following categories of persons: (i) entrants into the labour force (i.e. persons who were economically active at the time of enumeration and were in Hong Kong but economically inactive a year ago); (ii) persons who were economically active at the time of enumeration and were outside Hong Kong a year ago; and (iii) leavers from the labour force (i.e. persons aged 15 and over who were economically inactive at the time of enumeration and were in Hong Kong but economically active a year ago). Information was collected on their socio-economic characteristics and their reasons for entering or leaving the local labour force.
The report includes findings of the above enquiry with some 20 statistical tables and charts. Users can download this publication free of charge at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/statistical_report/social_data/index.jsp).
