Multimedia puppet theatre "Genesis" from Denmark (with photos)
*******************************************************

Out of the darkened theatre, an egg is transformed into a living planet. One after another, different animal puppets emerge on Earth, followed by human beings. Showing how everything seems to change with the passage of time, in the blink of an eye people are living in modern cities. And yet curiosity about the cosmos still remains.

The innovative multimedia puppet theatre production "Genesis" is one of the internationally acclaimed works of Meridiano Teatret from Denmark. It presents to audience members a three-dimensional journey across the universe, delivering an incredible experience of witnessing the beginning of life and appreciating the great wonder of nature.

Giacomo Ravicchio, the artistic director of Meridiano Teatret, is the winner of numerous prestigious prizes including the Artist Award 2010 from Nordea-fonden, Copenhagen, and the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity 2007.

Written by Ravicchio, "Genesis" is a tale that inspires youngsters' interest in reconsidering the meaning of life. Integrating multimedia, lively puppetry, enchanting original music, poetic and magical images, innovative magic, masks and acting, the show will transform the stage into a series of visually intriguing and poetic scenes.

"Genesis" won the Excellent Production Award in the 2007 Shanghai International Children's Theatre Festival. The Children's Theatre Newspaper from Denmark described the programme as "a beautiful and meditative production about the beginning of all things" with "breathtaking puppetry" and "visual magic".
