Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong on June 7 in which a 72-year-old man was killed.

     About 4.35am on that day, the 72-year-old man was found lying unconsciously with a bicycle beside him on southbound carriageway of Hip Wo Street near Mut Wah Street in Kwun Tong. Initial enquiries revealed that the man was riding the bicycle along southbound Hip Wo Street and then lost control and fell on the ground.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the man was taken to the United Christian Hospital, and was later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment where he was certified dead at 7.05pm on June 11.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.

     Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7571 or 2305 7500.
