HKMAO Director concludes HK visit (with photos/videos)

     The Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Wang Guangya, concluded his three-day visit to Hong Kong this afternoon (June 14) and departed for Macau.  The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, saw Mr Wang off at the Hong Kong¡VMacau Ferry Terminal.

     Mr Wang visited Sky 100 at the International Commerce Centre in the morning.  At the centre he was briefed by the Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam; the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng; and the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing; on the overall planning of Hong Kong, including urban development, rock cavern development to increase land supply, the Kai Tak Development, transport infrastructure projects, the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link project, the future development of the airport, the West Kowloon Cultural District and other cultural facilities.

     Mr Wang also visited Tin Yan Estate Market in Tin Shui Wai, a public housing unit at Ching Pik House and the offices of Housing Advisory and Service Team.

     Later in the morning, Mr Wang visited the new Heung Yee Kuk premises in Sha Tin, where he was greeted by the Chairman of Heung Yee Kuk, Mr Lau Wong-fat, and vice-chairmen Mr Cheung Hok-ming and Mr Lam Wai-keung.

     A lunch was arranged for Mr Wang to meet Permanent Secretaries.  The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, and the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Peng Qinghua, and the Secretary for Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, also attended the lunch.

     Mr Wang concluded his visit by meeting the media, before his departure for Macau.
