Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this morning (June 10) in which an 85-year-old woman was killed.
About 10.30am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling along northbound Ma Hang Chung Road. On reaching 2 of Ma Hang Chung Road, the MGV reportedly hit the 85-year-old woman who is crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.56am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
