The Information Services Department issued the following statement in response to Apple Daily's report on the Chief Executive election today (June 8):
"The Information Services Department does not provide advice to any individual running in the Chief Executive election.
"The Information Services Department is the webmaster of the websites for the Chief Executive's Office, the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office and the Financial Secretary's Office, providing website design and technical support in relation to the official duties and responsibilities of the three offices. It also provides assistance to bureaux and departments in maintaining and improving their homepages.
"The Information Services Department did not send any representatives to attend the meeting mentioned in the report. As to whether a staff member of the department attended the meeting in a private capacity, the department is looking into the matter."
