Hong Kong delegation calls on Mainland environmental protection authorities (with photos)

     A green-industry delegation led by the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, called on two environmental protection authorities in Beijing today (June 8).

     In the morning, Mr Yau and the delegation visited the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau to discuss environmental issues of mutual concern.

     In the afternoon, they visited the Ministry of Environmental Protection to gain a better understanding of the policy measures on environmental protection and the green economy under the National 12th Five-Year Plan in the Mainland.

     Mr Yau also hosted a dinner for representatives of Hong Kong enterprises and organisations joining the 12th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference, relevant Mainland officials and representatives of Mainland environmental industries. The dinner facilitated exchanges between environmental industries in Hong Kong and the Mainland to promote the development of the green economy.

     The delegation will call on the National Development and Reform Commission and visit the Beijing e-Town Economic Development Area tomorrow (June 9) before returning to Hong Kong in the evening.
