Police appeal to the public for information on the body of a newborn baby boy found in North Point this afternoon (June 3).
About 2.16pm, Police received a report that a baby body was found inside a plastic bag in a rubbish bin outside No. 321 King's Road.
Police officers sped to the scene and located the baby body inside the plastic bag. Initial examination revealed that the body, with its umbilical cord attached, was a newborn boy.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern Police District are underway.
Police appeal to anyone who may have information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2880 4357.
