International Education Forum and Expo to showcase the New Academic Structure
***********************************************************

The Education Bureau will hold the International Education Forum and Expo between July 14 and 16 to acquaint key stakeholders in Hong Kong, overseas education bodies, credential evaluation agencies and admission units of post-secondary institutes with the progress of the New Academic Structure (NAS).

Themed "Learning Journey for the Globalised World", the three-day event comprising a Ministerial Roundtable, an International Conference and an Education Expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event provides an opportunity for policy-makers and education experts from around the world as well as local education practitioners to share experiences and discuss the intertwining issues of education reform and human resource development, and gauge their success so far.  Secondary school principals will be invited to take part in the International Conference to be held on July 14.

Over 60 parallel sessions organised for parents and schools will showcase the wide-ranging opportunities for Hong Kong's senior secondary and post-secondary students to succeed under the NAS. The sessions will also look at international recognition of the new Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education qualification. The parallel sessions and the Education Expo will be held between July 15 and 16.

Other topics of the parallel sessions will highlight how the new senior secondary curriculum helps students prepare for the transition to further study or work and how they develop reflection capabilities through Other Learning Experiences. The sessions also provide a useful platform for teachers to interact with their peers, top education leaders, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, local and overseas post-secondary institutions.

The Education Expo will focus on local and international systems of education and feature multiple pathways for further studies and career development to suit individual interests, aptitudes and abilities. It is open to the public and admission is free.
