The Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) will hold the next phase of the Arts and Crafts Fair from August 21, 2011, to July 29, 2012, to enrich the artistic experience of visitors.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the fair provides a platform for arts practitioners to showcase their works and share their creativity with visitors as well as to enhance the HKCC as the hub of creative arts.

Painters, calligraphers, photographers and various craftspeople are invited to submit applications for stalls. The deadline for applications is June 17. Details of the fair are as follows:

1) Live photography service stalls

Stalls normally operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm but must open daily for two consecutive hours between 7pm and 10pm to offer visitors a photo-taking service at night. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $5,400.

2) Live painting/portrait/sketching/silhouette cutting/calligraphy service stalls

Stalls normally operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm but must open from 2pm to 6pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $4,100.

3) Stalls selling arts and crafts made by the applicants

Stalls normally operate from noon to 7pm but must open from 2pm to 6pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $2,700.

Applications are accepted from individuals only for live photography service stalls, while the other two types of service stalls are open to both individuals and organisations.

Applications from organisations are restricted to non-governmental organisations subvented by the Social Welfare Department, or certified student societies/organisations of registered institutes and faculties of fine arts and design.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel in accordance with the artistic quality, creativity, uniqueness and attractiveness of the products and services provided. If qualified applications exceed the available number of stalls, selection will be made by drawing lots.

Application forms are available at the HKCC enquiries counter and downloadable from the website www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk. Completed application forms together with the required documentary proof or samples should be delivered to the Enquiries Counter, HKCC, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, before 7pm on June 17.
