Notification letters on reallocation of constituencies for 2011 District Council election
***********************************************************

In view of the alteration of some constituency boundaries and names following the recent declaration of names and boundaries of constituencies in respect of the District Council ordinary election, the allocated constituencies of some electors have changed. Electors affected by these changes will be notified by the Registration and Electoral Office (REO) in the next few days.

"The REO will send letters to about 200 000 affected electors to inform them of the details of their constituencies after the change," an REO spokesman said today (May 26).

"The 2011 District Council ordinary election will be held in November. The affected electors and all other electors will be informed of the polling arrangements when they receive the poll cards and other relevant information sent by the REO close to polling day," he said.

The boundaries and names of the constituencies for the 2011 District Council ordinary election were specified in the Declaration of Constituencies (District Councils) Order 2011, which was published in the Gazette on March 25.

Enquires can be made at 2891 1001.
