Police appealed for information about a fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O yesterday (May 24) in which a man died.
About 6.20pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 54-year-old man was travelling along Ying Yip Road towards Tseung Kwan O. When approaching outside Clear Water Bay Film Studio, it reportedly hit a private car and a taxi travelling along Ying Yip Road towards Sai Kung and then crashed into a tree.
The LGV driver sustained head injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. The 55-year-old male taxi driver and a 40-year-old male LGV passenger also sustained injuries and were sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in conscious state. The LGV driver was later certified dead at 5.48am today (May 25).
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
