Proposed works under Tuen Mun river beautification scheme gazetted

     The Government published a Gazette notice today (May 20) on the proposed works under the Tuen Mun river beautification scheme.  The proposed works aim at building a landmark at Tuen Mun River for touring and sightseeing.

     The proposed works are as follows:

(a) construction of a footbridge approximately 85 metres in length with associated ramps and stairs across Tuen Mun River between Tin Hau Road and Tuen Mun Park;

(b) temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing cycle path and footpath along Tin Hau Road; a section of the existing amenity area, including cycle path and footpath, inside Tuen Mun Park; and a section of the existing Tuen Mun River Channel; and

(c) ancillary works including civil, geotechnical, landscaping, water and drainage works and street lighting.

     The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following places during office hours:

(a) Central and Western District Office
    Public Enquiry Service Centre

    99 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong

(b) Tuen Mun District Office
    Public Enquiry Service Centre
    2/F, Tuen Mun Government Offices

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before July 19.
